Walruses

Indeed this walrus is having fun on this 1980 black lithograph from
Cape Dorset artist Oopik Pitsiulak. This mixed creature has bird and walrus features
as wel as human features. Oopik titled this print : "Walrus having fun",
The print measures 23 x 32 cm, paper sizes are 28,5 x 38,5 cm.
Print edition 17 / 50, and in excellent condition. [€ 150.-]
Oopik Pitsiulak is also known as Soroseelutu.

The second walrus print looks like a flying walrus.
Notice on the left side of the walrus'body the human like face.
I fid it a very spiritual looking print.
The lithograph in balck and grey colors mesaures 44,5 x 58,5 cm.
The print itself is 26 x 42 cm; edition 08/50, nicely prized [€ 225.-].
Aoudla Pudlat has this print titled "The walrus takes flight".

Greenland

This drumdancer is made from steatite and wood.
Fine lines gives much detail to the hair and man's shorts.
You easilly imagine the hair move by each beat of the drum.
This two piece sculpture measures 7,5 x 8 x 11,5 cm. [€ 225.-]

All these three greenlandic sculptures from the '70 have a nice warm patina.
And all three have been damaged in the past,
but are professionaly cleaned and restored.
They are made by unknown greenlandic artists.

Two hunters.

One of them is on its way to the hunting grounds, and carries three very odd looking hunting tools.Fine vertical lines give a nice structure to the pants. On his back this hunter carries a kind of rucksack. This medium sized sculptures measures 15 x 8,5 x 19,5 cm, and has a price tag of € 245.

The next sculpture is a very dynamic huntingscene. This man tries to spear either a seal or some fish.Midsized ( 8 x 8 x 14,5 cm) and also midpriced, just € 225.-
